Wright House Built at Florida Southern College

Outside of Oak Park near Chicago, where Frank Lloyd Wright developed his famous Praire Style houses, one of the densest collections of the architect's buildings can be found on the campus of Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. A dozen Wright designs dot the campus, and as of 1 November 2013 one more building joins the roster, 54 years after Wright's death and 74 years after he designed it—The Usonian House. Originally designed as faculty housing, the 1,700-square-foot (158-sm) building is being used as the Sharp Family Tourism and Education Center. Unique for Wright's Usonian-style houses, the building is built from nearly 2,000 textile blocks with 5,000 glass inserts.
