Densification plans for Kulosaari included a block for apartments on a former site of a school, beside a church and a rocky park.
According to the town plan, the point blocks have been adapted to the terrain, avoiding unnecessary excavation and preserving the rocky part of the plot in its natural state.
The apartments are arranged around a compact central staircase with a skylight. The lower floors are divided into four apartments, while the upper floors instead are divided into three by combining the two smallest apartments. The glazed corner balconies open either onto the living areas or saunas. The arrangement has avoided difficult rescue routes from the rocky areas. Ground-level apartments have a yard connection, and small play and seating areas are on the cliffs on the park side.
Accessible entrances are solved with a mezzanine entrance and elevators with two-way doors. The communal areas are on the ground level of the middle building, which has natural courtyard connections. All stairwells have storage facilities for outdoor equipment and prams, as well as a laundry room.
