Dr Tim Greer is a director of Tonkin Zulaikha Greer Architects and has an interest in existing urban fabric and the cultural elements it embodies. He treats each project as an individual opportunity to create fresh contemporary forms, using current construction techniques. Tim’s work ranges across Masterplanning, Urban Design Architecture and Interior Design.
Multi-award winning projects under Greer’s directorship combine urban renewal with new cultural uses. These include Carriageworks Contemporary Arts Centre, Scots Church Apartment Redevelopment, Paddington Reservoir Gardens, The Glasshouse: Arts Conference and Entertainment Centre, The Bennelong Restaurant, and the Kensington St Precinct including The Old Clare Hotel. The Paddington Reservoir Gardens has won 14 Design Awards including the 2010 WAN Urban Design Award. His skill at interior design was widely recognized with 75 Myrtle Street, which one both the John Verge Interior Award and Emil Sodersten Award for Interior Architecture.
More recently, his comprehensive experience has earned him commissions to design the Central Station Renewal Precinct Masterplan and The Vision and Future Framework for the Darlinghurst Gaol.
Tim is currently an Adjunct Professor of Architecture at Sydney University and holds a Doctorate in Architecture and Design from RMIT in Melbourne. His contribution to architecture was acknowledged by the Sydney Morning Herald‘s ‘Sydney’ magazine in their annual 100 Most Influential People issue, 2010.

Roger O’Sullivan

Roger is the Quality Manager for TZG and was appointed as a director in 1998. Since joining TZG in 1994, Roger’s particular areas of professional expertise are in the management and production of Contract Documentation and the administration of Building Contracts.
Prior to joining TZG Roger was a senior architect with Australian Construction Services.
He was responsible for the contract documentation of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Building in Canberra valued at approximately $170m.
Roger then acted as Superintendant for the construction and contract finalisation of the Australian Commonwealth Offices at 487 Pitt St Sydney and was responsible for the contract documentation for the award winning $120m refurbishment of the Head Office of the Commonwealth Bank at 48 Martin Place, Sydney.

Peter Tonkin

Dr Peter Tonkin has a strong design and urban design reputation, and a wide range of experience from simple to complex buildings and site planning. Award winning projects have included the Eternity Playhouse, the National Arboretum Canberra, Adelaide Riverbank Bridge, the redevelopment of the Hyde Park Barracks Museum, the Australian War Memorial, London, and significant projects at Homebush Bay for the 2000 Olympics. Peter is currently working on the redevelopment of Walsh Bay Arts Precinct, the Bondi Pavilion and the Parramatta Square public domain.
Peter has maintained an independent practice since 1981 and in 1987 he joined Brian Zulaikha to form Tonkin Zulaikha Greer Architects.

Brian Zulaikha

Brian is a founding partner of Tonkin Zulaikha Greer and prior to it’s establishment in 1987, his experience ranged from the Singapore Superior Courts Complex to the design and documentation of a number of high rise office buildings. Brian ran the design management of the highly successful Bicentennial refurbishment of the whole of Circular Quay in Sydney, including retail strategy, and liaison with all stakeholders, Government Authorities and unions.
Since forming TZG, successful projects, such
as the Carriageworks at Eveleigh and the Scots Church Apartments are representative of Brian’s commitment to quality outcomes.
Brian maintains a special interest in the integration of art and architecture and he is committed to the production of architecture that is of its time and fuses a sensitive contemporary approach with functional and pragmatic requirements, for example, the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence and the Black Theatre Site in Redfern.
Brian’s own house completed in early 2007 won the RAIA National Award for Residential Architecture (Houses).
