A total of 56 winners have been named, consisting of 44 buildings in the UK broken into 10 regions (East, London, Northwest, Northern Ireland, Scotland, South, Southeast, Southwest, West Midlands, Yorkshire) and 12 buildings elsewhere in the EU. The six shortlisted projects for the prestigious Stirling Prize will be drawn from these 56 winners and announced on July 17, with the winner announced on October 17.

The winners, listed below by region, tend toward "confident public buildings built for communities" rather than "commercial and privately-owned buildings," per the RIBA. This reflects the economic situation in the UK, as does the large number of smaller projects receiving awards, but it also points to the rising importance of creating quality public spaces that "can bring together communities, boost pride and revive our cities, towns and villages."
