Five proposals vying to be Sweden's newest skyscraper, to be built in Gothenburg, have been selected in the Karlavagnstornet competition.
The five finalists are Manuelle Gautrand Architects (with local architect Equator), Ian Simpson Architects, Skidmore Owings & Merrill (with local architect Entasis), Wingårdhs Arkitektkontor, and Zaha Hadid Architects. Yet, since the proposals were submitted anonymously, one can only guess at which architect is responsible for each rendering.
The 8-person jury that will select the winner consists of Swedish Association of Architects-appointed architects Christer Malmström and Louise Masreliez, Gothenburg city architect Björn Siesjö and city planner Anders Svensson, Älvstranden Utveckling's Olle Lindqvist and Erica Bengtsson, and Serneke Group's Ola Serneke and Alban Herlitz.
The winner will be announced on June 17.

Proposal 2: Svall, 231 meters tall

Proposal 4: Polstjärnan, 230 meters tall
