The Vancouver Art Gallery selects the Swiss architects to design their new building at Larwill Park.
The Vancouver Art Gallery has selected Herzog & de Meuron to design their new 310,000-square-foot (28,800-sm) building with at least 25,000 square feet (2,325 sm) of exterior space at Larwill Park. The Swiss architects bested finalists Diller Scofidio + Renfro, KPMB Architects, SANAA, and Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects, for a project that will more than double the institution's current home. The gallery will unveil conceptual designs for the building in early 2015. Stay tuned.
