In case a building is not allowed to exceed a certain height, the use of the ground topography can be a solution. In this case, the entire space program has been implemented on two levels without basement.
In this residential building with two levels, the basement is effectively embedded in the hillside. On this lower level there is a large double garage with additional storage room for bicycles. A corridor provides access to other areas. This includes several rooms to be used as an office, guest room, gym, workshop or storage. The heating system and building are also housed at this level.
A staircase leads to the upper level. The layout in L-shape allows the functional separation; a corridor opens up to both axes. The axis towards the street houses the bedrooms for parents and children, as well as bath and sanitary areas. The second axis essentially comprises the open and spacious living and dining rooms including the kitchen.
The corridor passing through both axes opens up by visual connections with floor to ceiling windows between the two axes and the interior garden. This also provides a direct connection to the surrounding landscape. A curved roof in sickle shape overstretches the terrace and building-related areas.
