Two schools of the SK-Berlin prefabrication series from the sixties were provided with new cladding on the long sides, made of extruded aluminium hollow sections, anodised in various colours. A structure of non-bearing delicate lamellas forms the new skin in front of the existing façade. The rear layer of the façade is generated by windows constructed from wooden profiles based on a 1.2 m grid together with the existing concrete slabs. Prominent features of the existing precast slab building remain perceivable. The front faces of the buildings are cladded with large scale composite slabs.
