PSLAB was asked to develop a lighting concept for Al Dente restaurant in Beirut–Lebanon. The high ceiling restaurant was divided into 3 areas: the main central area containing the entrance and the main hall, a secondary hall and a bar area The lighting response to the specific constraints of the space was consisted of twig-like metallic fixtures that .PSLAB developed to be mounted in clusters at the center axis connecting the entrance to the main hall. For the secondary hall and bar area, .PSLAB developed superposed brass discs with a pinpoint light source at its center and fixed to the ceiling by means of a metallic rod. These discs are built up in an overlapping manner to produce a gleaming panel of light and texture suspended above the bar. The linear layout of the fixtures and the continuity of the line of light defined the depth of the spaces. The lighting response took into account the characteristics of the space as well as its constraints to create a lighting concept in harmony with that of the space.
