The project is located in a high-end medical tower in an upscale area of Guadalajara. It seeks to escape the stereotype of a classic doctor’s office. The client, a young plastic surgeon, dictated the requirements and expectations for this small space. The project developed from the idea of creating a furniture piece that could envelop, contain and generate the entire program. The space was divided in five distinct areas. The reception and waiting room are located towards the front. The examination room is in the middle portion. The private office and bathroom are located in the back, taking advantage of a beautiful view of the city. A hallway on one side articulates and connects these spaces. The variety of materials used and the dialog between them are fundamental to the essence of the space and its function. All the elements generate the sensation of cleanliness and professionalism, both necessary for the client’s professional practice.
