The German Film Museum immerse the visitor in the world of film. In an exhibition area of 800 square metres spread out over two floors, a compact setting is revealed that works with the means and methods of film and, at the same time, reflects them.
The theme of the first floor is „Filmic Vision“. The visitors are invited to take a trip through a caleidoscope-like narrative space, which is primarily dedicated to the former technical discoveries and inventions. The design language of the accentuated showcases that charactarises the narrative space is reminiscent of film drums and tape.
The exhibition unit entitled „Filmic Narrative“ on the second floor introduces the visitor to the present-day possibilities of film and invites him to participate. The focus of this topic lies on the design of film images and their emotional effect.
