The project sets itself the task to provide all age groups a differentiated housing offer on the green outskirts of the city. The housing offer also includes a residential community for residents with a high need of support from “Jugend am Werk”.
The two buildings are located on the southeastern edge of the development area. The entire area is made up of 6 construction sites. The inner zone of the construction fields is free of individual traffic.
Our building follows these guidelines and forms spatial edges and high points. The tower (staircase 1), which is 35m high, is staged by a stepped development (stairs 2) on the eastern edge, which also integrates a lower high point. These two parts of the building and the townhouses, which are situated to the semi-public space, enclose an introverted entrance courtyard from which the two parts of the building are developed and which represent at the same time a communicative meeting place for the residents.
All communal facilities, bicycle and stroller storage rooms and staircases are accessible from this central outdoor area. The lively ground floor zones thus contribute to the revival of the adjacent rooms and living areas.
