The owner and his relatives were pleased with the comfort and usability of the Miyasaka residence built three years ago, and asked us to design an additional two-family house on an adjacent lot. The resultant three-family house was designed to resemble a "village" with a unified appearance and individuality of the households, with the use of the difference in elevation by skipped floors and the naturally occurring alleys and plazas. Unlike row houses or condominiums, this multi-family residence is an ideal way of living that combines privacy with the pleasure of gathering together.
