House R
Frankfurt am Main, Germany
- Location
- Frankfurt am Main, Germany
- Year
- 2009
The design was developed for a competition for a residential single detached dwelling set aback in a central Frankfurt neighbourhood. Although House R is closely surrounded by adjacent buildings, the proposed architecture allows for a high level of privacy, still maintaining transparency and interaction with the landscape. A playful combination of changing levels and open voids provide for an inspiring interior, focusing on the large double height living-dining area as the social centre of the house. The design was awarded the second prize.
