Replacing the road bridge of 1938, the new Langensandbrücke launches a link between the city center and the periphery. It allows vehicles, cycles and pedestrian to cross the wide range of railways connecting to the main station. Its form results from the synthesis of requirements and constraints of the project. The restricted height gauges and the limited area allocated to the construction site complexify the required uses for safe personal and public transportation. The chosen shape intelligibly expresses both these structural and functional purposes.
