In the surrounding environment surrounded by the lush greenery and residential area of the distant view mountain, we planned the townlike elementary school by nestling around the houses. It is divided into subdivisions with zones, and consists of open ordinary classrooms per grade and flexible open spaces utilizing spare classrooms.
We placed a media center at the center of the school as the core of the facility, and created a rich learning space through functional collaboration by arranging a special classroom to surround the multipurpose hall that can be used for various purposes. We aimed at the making of school which brought up attachment to area by making wooden space with warmness by utilizing local wood variously depending on function, use such as structural material, interior material, furniture and so on.
A wooden structure that utilizes local lumbers such as Japanese red pine, Japanese cedar and larch lumber and laminated lumber at appropriate locations is a collaboration of three local forest associations (Hachinohe City Forest Association, Sanpachi Forest Association, Kamikita Forest Association) It was realized.
