A new component for the city‘s harbour
For our claim to connect the location more strongly to the city, we offer urban density and a maximum of public space. Our design is derived from the surrounding city area. The existing park is extended by the base of our U-shaped building staggering down towards the park and the city, the vast cut-outs offering framed views between the open space and the river area.
Free Space
The river promenade and the Medienhafen are connected as the building base functions both as a step stone and a distribution level for residents, employees and passers-by. The inner harbour is newly arranged as a swimming park with pontoons on different levels, ramps and staircases make it accessible. Sports and training fields, a beach club and bars form the ‚new harbour gardens‘.
Diversity
Our goal is to create a diverse mixture of uses and highly flexible and differentiated possible accommodation types. Restaurants, galleries, studios, shops and co-working spaces on the lower levels provide a lively frequency, while small studios, 3- to 4-bedroom apartments and lofts attract singles, couples, families, best agers and students as residents. Common areas such as terraces are integrated on all levels and complement the private outdoor spaces provided for each apartment.
