The light, airy spaces of the Saradar offices, with their glass-fronted aspect overlooking a central atrium, presented both a challenge and an inspiration for the lighting response to the site. .PSLAB was seeking to create products that adapt to the characteristics and constraints of the space. The open view on to the offices from the central atrium, with the two parallel entrances connected by a conference room, was key to the end products which would provide a visual unification of these spaces. Around the entrances, layers of large, irregular conical lamps were fixed to the ceiling, clearly visible from afar. Each lamp is hollowed out at a specific angle to house its deep-set bulb and their asymmetrical mouths provide glowing light surfaces that, combined with their striking outline below the ceiling, draw the eye to the overall unity and drama of the space.

In the central conference room, an alternative new ceiling layer was developed, one of floating white lamps suspended from the ceiling. The inner lighting of these glowing discs, with their irregular deep-set cavities, create a fascinating play of volume, light and form.

As with all .PSLAB created lighting concepts, these original ideas were inspired by a site and were born out of a continuous collaboration with the client.
