SUSI is a small residential house plus veterinarian’s office on the south slope of Puster Valley in South Tyrol. It was designed as a passive house without heating. Energy and cost efficiency required a compact volume; nevertheless, the living area had to be generous in layout and flexible to use. Efficient organization of space allows a spectacular living area extending over the full length of the building while offering maximum sunlighting and a stunning view of the dolomites from the bedrooms and bathroom. The house is complemented and effectively expanded by outdoor spaces of different character - from the classical forecourt to a wind-protected dining corner and a court-like roof terrace with a room high-enclosure for sunbathing and barbecuing.
