A new short film from PLANE—SITE touches upon the primary issues that designers, acousticians and directors are addressing in the design of concert halls today.
A few months ago we featured the videos that served as jumping-off points for "Scenography of Space," a panel discussion held at the World Architecture Festival and moderated by PLANE—SITE's Andrés Ramirez. The new film encapsulates some of the challenges facing 21st-century concert halls.
At just under three minutes, "Scenography of Space: More Than Music" can't delve deep into the issues facing the various players in the design of concert halls, but it brings the most important ones to the fore: namely, the flexibility demanded in the performing spaces and the role of the venue within the larger community.
