Epoch Films, Office

- 2010
The 10,000 square feet space of the Epoch Films offices was originally used as a printing factory. The office conversion maintains traces of the buildings former use through its openness and light architectural interventions. Furniture is used instead of walls to subdivide the open spaces. The renovation exposed the structural concrete ceiling and columns while concealing the air conditioning ducts. Glass walls around the private offices and open conference areas allow daylight to reach the entire floor. A centralized work area accommodates a temporary work staff for various durations and scales of production. Much of the furniture was designed for the client’s various needs. Pegboards provide reconfigurable display surfaces, and soft wood was used in both solid and plywood forms to create shelving, chairs, and a long cafeteria-style table with upholstered cushions.
