This architecture looks like Nagaya-mon Gate of a particular Sanuki district. In fact, this architecture is a house consisting of single-story with a loft and has a big rising arch shaped roof supported by two blocks (residential room part and drawing room part). Living room is made by wooden structure, and kitchen becomes a passage to private rooms. In addition, share space overlooking the garden has become a front room of the private rooms and also communication space of a family.

Rammed earth as a building façade material has excellent thermal insulation performance and is perfect material even as a texture to represent the Japanese architecture.

HANCHIKU (Rammed earth) tried in the Art Setouchi 2013 in Honjima had been set in the thickness of 700 mm of wall. Rammed earth wall of thickness 700 mm was very superior in insulation performance, but had to solve some problems to adopt this in a general building (especially house). In this architecture, from the point of view of workability and thermal insulation properties, I was adopted 1/10 thickness of the Art project in Honjima (700mm). Insulation performance of the completed building could be realized that it is much better than the general building materials.

The possibility of HANCHIKU that began from the Art Setouchi 2013 in Honjima will widen by this house.
