A three-story mixed-use building for a ballet dancer couple, consisting of a residence and a studio for ballet classes. The ballet studio is located on the second floor where the maximum volume can be secured, the first floor is used for rooms related to the ballet studio, and the third floor is used for the living area of the two-family house. In order to maximize the effective area of the ballet studio space and to secure a ceiling height of 4 m, columns and beams were made flat and thin, and a 2.4 m span gantry frame was laid out. The simple request to enlarge the ballet studio space was pursued in a straightforward manner, resulting in a simple space with a plain but fundamental strength.
