Life-Sized Barbie Dreamhouse Opens in Berlin

While this headline may seem like a typo, it is a fact that the Barbie Dreamhouse Experience opened on May 16 near Berlin's Alexanderplatz shopping district. Thankfully to Berliners, and the protesters that greeted the unveiling with cries of "Pink Stinks," the multi-hued pink structure is temporary; it will be open until August 25, after which it will travel to other parts of Germany and Europe. 

The replica of Barbie's fictional Malibu home is described by organizers as "a seemingly endless walk-in closet." So it's no surprise that girls can try on clothes and then check out Barbie's kitchen, bedroom, and even bathroom (where, oddly, a pink dolphin pops out of the toilet bowl). It is the second Dreamhouse Experience, following one that opened one week earlier in Florida.
