During the Heimtextil Summer Special, which took place in June 2022 together with Techtextil and Texprocess, the industry's need for personal encounters, tactile impressions and creative input became apparent. Thus, Heimtextil, which will be held from 10 to 13 January 2023, is once again positioned well: over 2,200 international exhibitors have registered for the event.

Heimtextil 2023 will meet the current market challenges accompanied by a great thirst for inspiration and new approaches to solutions with relevant exhibitors and an extensive complementary program.

The overarching theme of sustainability will be clearly apparent at the trade fair. With the exhibitor guide Green Directory and the Green Village, a platform for discussion with seal providers, Heimtextil offers important orientation in the kaleidoscope of the many sustainable offers. The popular Green Tours will once again take interested visitors to selected exhibitors to learn more about their sustainability strategy and products. Last but not least, the impressive Future Materials Library will again be presented as part of the Trend Space. The international collection of material innovations in the interior sector is curated by the futures research agency FranklinTill, which is also responsible for the Trend Space concept.

New is that the Trend Space will be presented in Hall 9.0. The design area sets the scene for Heimtextil Trends 23/24. The main focus will be on sustainability and the circular economy.

Circular economy as the focus

"Considering the ecological emergency we are currently facing, the textile industry has a responsibility to review its processes and change them for the better. For this reason, in this edition of Heimtextil Trends, we are taking a materials-centric approach, focusing on sourcing, design and sustainability of materials. Textiles Matter highlights the potential of the circular economy and recognizes design initiatives that are beautiful, relevant and, above all, sustainable," explains Marta Giralt Dunjó from FranklinTill. The four trend themes "Make and Remake", "Continuous", "From Earth" and "Nature Engineered" are derived from this.

In addition, FranklinTill's "Material Manifesto" commits the agency to a design of the area that is as sustainable as possible, using predominantly recycled materials and elements, and following a strict waste-avoidance strategy.

Interior.Architecture.Hospitality TALKS & TOURS

Interior.Architecture.Hospitality, the specialist program for interior designers, architects and hospitality experts, will again be a major feature at Heimtextil. The program includes the Interior.Architecture.Hospitality LECTURES, in which renowned architects and well-known hotel experts will present their work and discuss current industry topics such as sustainability, as well as the Interior.Architecture.Hospitality TOURS, which take participants to highlights from the contract sector. These tours, in addition to others, will again be offered by World-Architects. For the first time, there will be Interior.Architecture.Hospitality TALKS & TOURS, which combine guided tours and lectures. The Interior.Architecture.Hospitality DIRECTORY will once again list all the suppliers of contract textiles. In addition, the identification of the respective trade fair booths ensures that trade fair visits are effective for the target group.

Interior.Architecture.Hospitality LIBRARY

With the brand new edition of the material library Interior.Architecture.Hospitality LIBRARY, Heimtextil offers a curated selection of textiles with particular functional properties. In 2023, the focus is on the properties flame-retardant, sound-absorbing, light-resistant, antimicrobial and water-repellent. In addition, design and innovation in the type of textile construction are important criteria for the product selection by a panel of experts. The textiles will be labeled with the name of the manufacturer and the booth number and presented at Heimtextil in Hall 4.0. Online, the Interior.Architecture.Hospitality LIBRARY is available all year round at www.textile-library.com.

Heimtextil Conference "Sleep & More"

In 2023, the Heimtextil Conference "Sleep & More" will once again offer visitors a first-class lecture program on the subjects of health, sustainability and the hotel industry. For four days, experts will address the latest findings, developments and trends in the field of healthy sleep from different perspectives of the industry. With the young talent program "New & Next", promising newcomers and start-up companies are offered the opportunity to present themselves in the environment of the international industry. The fresh ideas and products of the New & Next exhibitors make a valuable contribution to the multi-faceted Heimtextil range.

New management

Heimtextil also has some news concerning personnel: Bettina Bär has been in charge of the Home Textiles segment since September 2022. Her partner in the joint leadership of the international trade fair for home and contract textiles is Meike Kern, who will continue to be responsible for the Household Textiles segment. In the future, Bär wants to boost Heimtextil with new ideas, strengthen relevant market segments, including that of Interior, Architecture and Hospitality, and promote sustainable solutions.
