Atelier Liu Yuyang Architects (ALYA)

Tongji University Affiliated Experimental Elementary School locates in the Anting new town in Jiading district. It consists of teaching buildings, administration building, canteen, gymnasium and elevated corridors. The design follows the context of the original site. According to the static demands of different functions, the teaching, office, sports spaces are connected in series through courtyards in different scales and different closure. Thus the regional space feature can be transferred through the organization of the courtyard layout. Meanwhile, the architectural silhouette would be integrated into the surroundings through its natural landscape design. The back stepped volume, the transition of topography are inspired from the nature.
