SET is an architecture, urbanism and design studio based in Rome, led by Onorato di Manno and Andrea Tanci. SET believes in an essential architecture based on the study of proportions and the use of simple geometric shapes. Simplicity is the key theme of the entire creative process, from the abstract idea to the design solution as a response to the complexity of the functional program.
The firm believes in a non-generic architecture that is able to relate to the local context and culture through the coherent use of materials, a critical approach to environmental sustainability and new technologies. This architecture emerges as a cultural factor in the local context and preserves the uniqueness of places. The design activity of our firm is based on constant theoretical research about public space and the modalities of interaction with those who live in it. SET has won several awards including “Dedalo Minosse - Morseletto Prize” and “NIB New Italian Blood”. Furthermore, the office has been selected for the "BigMat'17", “Architizer A+”, “Barbara Capocchin”, “Archdaily – Building of the year”, “Archmarathon Award” and featured in renowned exhibitions and publications (Azure, Domus, C3, Arquitectura Viva). The office has held lectures at various Universities (Dida - the University of Florence, the Polytechnic School of Palermo, the University of Roma Tre) and cultural events (the Biennial of the Public Space, New Generations Festival).
