"A Meeting with Architects" is a series of short films produced and hosted by Julia Zhu, featuring her interviews with Chinese architects Ma Yansong and Yung Ho Chang, European architects Álvaro Siza and Christian de Portzamparc, and Israeli-Canadian-American architect Moshe Safdie.
Each of the five films is roughly 12 minutes long and they are presented below in reverse chronological order of their release. The series started in 2019 with Julia Zhu and Ma Yansong speaking in Paris at the MAD X exhibition that opened at the Centre Pompidou in April 2019. In the most recent film, released in September 2020, Zhu spoke with Christian de Portzamparc at the Shangyin Opera House in Shanghai, which opened in 2019 and was his first building in China. The films are in Chinese or English; all films have subtitles in both languages.
