The Ruhr Tower in Essen is a modern architectural icon. The former administration building of Thyssen Krupp was one of the first high-rise buildings to be constructed after the Second World War. Today, the refurbished and listed building houses office spaces of the provider Design Offices, among others. With a homely interior design concept, brandherm + krumrey have enhanced the existing spatial quality of the coworking spaces, which are spread over several floors.

The flexible working environments provided by Design Offices occupy almost 7,000 square metres of the Ruhr Tower. With coworking and office spaces as well as conference and event rooms, the branch combines all important modern working formats. The rooftop lounge on the former executive floor is a special highlight. The two-storey space on the 19th floor affords impressive views of the city. Here, as on the other floors, generous window areas create an extremely light atmosphere. brandherm + krumrey counter the sober charm of the post-war architecture with warm colours, materials such as mahogany and many foliage plants. The combination of office furniture of high-quality design with upholstered armchairs, carpets and homely accessories lends the rooms a decidedly pleasant ambience. The openness and flexibility of the working environment is emphasised with loose furniture arrangements and visible ceiling installations. In between, there are places for joint exchange and creative networking. Incorporating the distinctive spatial impression, the high-rise architecture of the 1950s has thus been transformed into a collaborative office landscape.
