The North Wing is one of the oldest parts of Laufen Castle and an important component of the complex since it has been the subject of countless historical photos and tourist snapshots. On the two main floors, a „Historama“ now invites visitors to learn about the Rhine Falls. The entire building wing has been fully renovated. The facade, the Bleulersaal and the main staircase were restored in close collaboration with the society for historical preservation. A second staircase allows a continuous circulation through the exhibition as well as a secure escape route for the building. Adjacent to the main staircase, a narrow zone with an elevator, toilet facilities and technical rooms has been intregrated into the structure.
