HIGHRISE one is a modern office complex with a penthouse, whose silhouette shines into the city sky at Munich's Ostbahnhof station, visible from afar even at night. A central design element of the high-rise is the exterior façade, whose color concept was developed by Berlin artist Erich Wiesner in cooperation with steidle architekten. To make the black and white play of colors visible throughout, a special lighting concept was designed by Tropp Lighting Design. Floor-to-ceiling façade profiles, which are backlit, illuminate the linear grids at the onset of dusk and convey a transparent lightness to the building structures.
The lighting design follows the guidelines of the architects and the client, Reiß & Co München GmbH, and systematically implements them. The interior lighting is coordinated with the exterior effect, warm light colors emphasize the overall image and make the two-story entrance hall with lobby glow. In the offices, a strict grid of linear pendant luminaires aligned with the axis of the façade emphasizes the long-distance effect of the high-rise at night. The interplay of black and white is consistently continued inside the buildings and effectively staged with modern lighting solutions.
